Shortly after spending a considerable amount on Christmas gifts, here comes the Chinese New Year in around a month's time. Behind all this massive spending, have you ever considered the primary producers and farmers that have been exploited are earning unfair wages? This is why the term "fair trade" exists and this is why the Chairman of Hong Kong Fair Trade Power (HKFTP), Anthony Chiu, decided to start up HKFTP.

Carrying the philosophy of fair trading, Anthony encountered challenges at the start as citizens in Hong Kong know little about it. Continuous effort of promoting fair trade through social media, seminars and workshops, the organisation got their first taste on the fruit of profit seven years after starting up.

Although Fair Circle, the merchandising brand of HKFTP, already has more than 700 products in store, there are still numerous customers enquiring products which we have not built up a fair trade channel yet. Anthony thus highlighted that, in Hong Kong, there is still a massive potential in the fair trade market.
