Hubert Project 2014/03/22

The Huber Project- an online learning platform, initiated by the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs, partnered with the University of Hong Kong Social Science Department, has taken FAIR CIRCLE as an e-Case to study.

Course Title: "Building the Fair Trade Movement in Hong Kong

Understanding the opportunities, challenges and strategies of the fair trade movement in the local context

Course Outline: This e-Case examines how, despite incompatible underlying values, fair trade can be promoted in a highly capitalistic city with the freest economy in the world. Through presenting the historical development, key players, opportunities and challenges of the fair trade movement in Hong Kong, this e-Case discusses various windows of opportunity and multiple strategies to promote fair trade. It also illustrates the approaches that Fair Circle, a social enterprise, adopted to build a viable and sustainable fair trade movement." (Authors: Dr. Terence Yuen,Lorranie Lui and Kristine Chan )
